Why are these "re-writes"

Copyright laws in the U.S. do not always apply to works created in other countries. An actual 'translation' typically requires permission from the creator if the translation is made available for public consumption.

A re-write falls under 'fair use' which allows a creator to re-tell a story in their own words and provide it in a shareable format as long as it does not infringe on the original product. (Kind of like re-telling Star Wars to a friend. You can't reproduce the whole film and give it to them, but you can write up the story in your own words so they can read it.  There's also a fine line regarding telling someone something and selling something to someone. )

Why we don't 'sell' the translations

​

The translations are of stories/games created and written by someone else. We do not take anyone's work nor are we going to hinder the ability of the owner to sell their works. Our translations will assist the owner by expanding their customer base to include an English speaking audience.

To support the creation and sales of our own products, the translations are provided to members only and are not sold or accesible through other methods or means.

All works based on other pre-existing works (like fan fictions, translations etc) are accessed through membership. They are for the most part, labors of love but not products we produce for the purpose of selling to the public.
